About Jared Eliot Middle School

Jared Eliot Middle School, a NELMS Spotlight School, is a public middle school located in coastal Connecticut halfway between New Haven and New London on Interstate 95. Eliot serves students from fifth to eighth grade supporting them in bridging the gap between childhood and adolescence. Here, students' physical, social and emotional needs are supported. At Jared Eliot Middle School, a central focus is teaching students how to learn - critical thinking, asking useful questions, finding answers independently and developing study skills are all stressed at the middle school level.

Additionally, students learn from a variety of teaching methodologies - independent study, small-group, class projects and full-class learning are all implemented to support student learning. Active learning and responsible behavior are fostered in all aspects of the middle school experience preparing students for success in high school and beyond.
